Case No. R-3939 SUPPLEMENTAL DECISION AND CERTIFICATION OF REPRESEN'T'ATIVES September 03, 194 On July 8, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board issued a Deci- sion and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings.' Pursuant to the Direction of Election an election by'secret ballot was conducted under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Twenty-first Region (Los Angeles, California). On Septem- ber 1, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Elec- tion Report on the ballot. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total on eligibility'list -------------- ------------------------ 72 Total ballots cast------------------------------------------ 09 Total ballots challenged------------------------------------ 1 Total blank ballots---------------------------------------- - 0 Total void ballots--------------------------------------- 0 Total valid votes counted------------------------------- -- 68 Votes cast for National Maritime Union, CIO---------------- 5 Votes cast for Sailors' Union of the Pacific, AFL-------------- 43 Votes cast for neither-------------------------------------- 20 On September 4, 1942, the N. M. U. filed objections to the conduct of the ballot and the Election Report, and on September 11, 1942, the Regional Director issued a Report on those objections. We have considered the objections and the Regional Director's report thereon and find that the objections raise no substantial or material issues with respect to the conduct of the election or the Election Report. B., No. 73. 384 RICHFIELD OIL CORPORATION 385 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations At, '49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections '8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations=Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Sailors' Union of the Pacific, affiliated with the American Federation of 'Labor, has been designated and se- lected by a majority of the unlicensed personnel in the deck department of the Pacific Coast oil tankers ' of Richfield Oil Corporation, Los Angeles, California, as their representative for the purposes of col- lective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Sailors' Union of the Pacific, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment. 487498-42-vol. 44-25 Copy with citationCopy as parenthetical citation
