SUPPLEMENTAL DECISION,
AND
CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES
August 18, 1942
On May 15, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called
the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the, above-
entitled case? - Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by
secret. ballot was conducted on June 9, 1942, under the direction and
supervision of the Regional Director for the Ninth Region (Cincinnati,
Ohio). On June 11, 1942, the Regional Director, acting. pursuant to-
Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules -and,
Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the
parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct -of the`
ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties.
As,to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported
as follows :

Upon motion duly filed by United Steelworkers of America praying
that the name "United Steelworkers of America".be substituted for
the name "Steel Workers Organizing Committee" in the caption and.
relevant portions of the record in this proceeding, the Board, on
August 3, 1942,. issued and duly served upon the parties ;its ,notice'

to_show cause why said motion should not be granted . No sufficient
cause - to the contrary having been shown', the Board hereby grants
said motion to substitute the name "United Steelworkers of America"
for the name "Steel Workers Organizing Committee ." We accord-
ingly correct the caption and will , certify the United Steelworkers of
America as exclusive bargaining representative.
CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES-
By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National
Labor Relations Board 'by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela-
tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of
National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as
amended,
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Steelworkers of America has
been designated and selected by a majority of the production and
maintenance employees of Ralston Steel Car Company , Columbus,
Ohio, including inspectors , student workmen, apprentices , and gang
leaders, but excluding all company officers and administrative employ-
ees, foremen , assistant foremen, supervisors in charge of any classes
of labor, timekeepers , all clerks , watchmen , police, gatemen, time-
study men, -engineering and drafting employees , and material dis-
patchers , as their representative for the purposes of collective bar-
gaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act , United Steel-
workers of America is the exclusive representative of all such
employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates
of pay, wages , hours of employment , and other conditions of
employment.
CHAIRMAN MILLIS took no part in the consideration of the above
Supplemental Decision and Certification of Representatives.
