I. 0. ) Case No. R-4197 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES October 17, 19!9 On September 11, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board is- sued it Decision and Direction of Election in the above -entitled proceeding., Pursuant to the Direction of Election , an election by secret ballot was conducted on October 6, 1942, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the First Region (Boston, Massachusetts ). On October 7, 1942, the Regional Direc- tor, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Re- lations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended , issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of .the parties. As to the balloting and its results , the Regional Director reported as follows : _ Total number eligible to vote____________ 1________________ 1, 321 Total number of votes cast_______________________________ 1,210 Total number of valid votes ______________________________ 1486 Total number of ballots marked for "Yes"_ __________________ 659 Total number of ballots marked for "No"________________ 527 Total number of blank ballots --------------------------- 4 Total number of void ballots -___ 2 Total number of challenged ballots ________________________ 18 Since the number of challenged ballots cannot affect the results of the election , we find it unnecessary to make any determination with respect to them. By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Re- lations Act, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT Is HEREBYCERTIFIED that Textile Workers of America (CIO) has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and 1 43 N. B., No. 247. 1308 POWDRELL & ALEXANDER, INC. 1309 maintenance employees at the Attawaugan, Ballouville, Brooklyn, Danielson No. 1, Danielson No. 2, and Danielson No. 3 plants of Powdrell & Alexander, Inc., excluding executives, employees having the right to hire or discharge or to recommend hire or discharge, and clerical employees, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a). of the Act, Textile Workers of America, (CIO) is the exclusive representa- tive of all, such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other' condition's of employment.
