AND
CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES
May 2,1942,
- On October 29, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board issued
its Decision and Direction of Election in this proceeding.' Pursuant
to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted
on November 7, 1941, by the Regional Director for the Eighteenth
Region (Minneapolis, Minnesota). - On November 12, 1941, the Re-
gional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National
Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended,
issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report.
As to the balloting and its results the Regional Director reported as
follows :

In his Election Report the Regional Director recommended that the
Board certify Associated Independent Unions, Local No. 18.
On November 17, 1941, United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers
of America, Local 1140, herein called the C. I. 0., filed objections to
the conduct of the ballot and to the Election Report. On January 8,

1942, the Regional Director issued his Report on Objections. , On
April 24, 1942, the C. I. O. notified the Regional Director that it with-
drew its objections to the Regional Director's Election Report and to
the certification of Associated Independent Unions, Local No. 18.
Under these 'circumstances, we • shall issue the certification -recom-
mended in-the Regional Director's Election Report:

By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor
Relations Board by Section 9 (c)' of the-National Labor Relations
Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of
National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as
amended, i '
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Associated Independent Unions, Local
No. 18, has been designated and selected by a majority of all employees
of Edward Rappaport, James Rappaport, and Max Rappaport, Co-
partners, doing business as Northwestern Auto Parts Co., Minneapolis,
Minnesota,'excluding Frank Rappaport, as their representative for the
purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 '(a) of
the Act, Associated Independent Unions, Local No. 18, is the exclusive
representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bar-
gaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and
other conditions of employment. .
