November 5, 19411 On August 30, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding.' Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election, by-secret ballot was, conducted on September, 26, 1941, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Nine- teenth Region (Seattle, Washington). On October 10, 1941, the Re- gional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the, parties his Election- Report on the balloting. No objection to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report has-been filed by any of the parties.. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total on eligibility list_______________________________________ 48 Votes cast for Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local No. 2701, A. F. of L------------------------------------------- 19 Votes cast for Goose Lake Lumber Workers'&. Loggers' Union__ 9: Votes"cast for neither________________________________________ 14- Total , valid votes cast________________________________________ 42 On October 17, 1941, Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local 2701, chartered by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, filed a re-. quest for a run-off election to be held by the Board. Although neither of the competing labor organizations in the election received a majority of the votes cast, the results of the election show that a majority of the employees in question desire to bargain collectively with the Company. Accordingly we shall direct a run-off election in which such employees 135 N. L. R. B., No. 18. 36 N. L . R. B., No. 146. 676 LAKEVIEW LUMBER COMPANY 677 will be given an opportunity to decide whether they desire to be repre- sented by Goose Lake Lumber Workers' & Loggers' Union, or by Lum- ber Workers Union Local 2701, chartered by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, affiliated with the American Fed- eration of Labor, for the purposes of collective bargaining.
