The Petitioner’s Request for Review of the Regional Director’s Decision and
Direction of Election is granted as it raises substantial issues warranting review.
On December 22, 2010, the Board issued a Notice and Invitation to File Briefs in
Specialty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Mobile, 356 NLRB No. 56, in which it
invited the parties and interested amici to file briefs addressing issues raised by the
Board’s decision in Park Manor Care Center, 305 NLRB 872 (1991).
In granting review in the present case, we invite the parties to address the
questions set forth in the Notice and Invitation to File Briefs. The Board hereby
consolidates this case and Specialty Healthcare for purposes of consideration.
