Pursuant to the Direction of Election , an election by secret ballot was conducted on August 22, 1941 , • by the Regional Director for the Fifteenth Region ( New Orleans , Louisiana ). On August 26, 1941, the Regional Director , acting pursuant to Article III, Sec- tion 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total on eligibility list______________________________________ 669 Total ballots cast___________________________________________ 572 Total ballots challenged_____________________________________ 0 Total blank ballots_________________________________________ 0' Total void ballots___________________________________________ 0 Total valid votes cast-- ------------------------------------- 572 Votes cast for Jacksonville Metal Trades Council, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor_________________________ 248 Votes cast against Jacksonville Metal Trades Council, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor____________________ 324 The results of the election show that no collective bargaining rep- resentative has been selected by a majority of the employees of Gibbs Gas Engine Company in the unit heretofore found to be appropriate for collective bargaining.
