R-3242 and R-3243 'CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES January 6, 19412 On November 28, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceed- ing.' Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on December 4 and 7, 1941, on each of the river boats owned by Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corporation, herein called the Company, at the Clairton Marine Way Landing, Clair- ton, Pennsylvania, under the direction and supervision of the Acting Regional Director for the Sixth Region (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). On December 10, 1941, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an, Election Report on the ballot. I. 0.-------------------------- 3 By virtue of and pursuant to the -power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela- tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that National Organization Masters, Mates & Pilots of America, Harbor 25, affiliated with the American Federa- tion of Labor has been designated and selected by a majority of all licensed deck officers employed by the Company on its inland boats, including masters, mates, and pilots, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (c) of the- Act, National Organization Masters, Mates & Pilots of America, Harbor 25, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, and hours of employment, and other conditions of employment. IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that National Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, has been designated and selected by a majority of all licensed en- gineers performing the work of engineers on river boats owned and operated by the Company, including chief engineers, second en- gineers, and spare engineers, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 (c) of the Act, National Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is the exclusive repre- sentative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bar- gaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, and hours of employment and other conditions of employment. 35 34 0 0 0 Copy with citationCopy as parenthetical citation
