Section 730 ILCS 5/3-6-7.3 - [Effective Until 1/1/2025] Committed person post-partum recovery requirementsThe Department shall ensure that, for a period of 72 hours after the birth of an infant by a committed person:
(1) the infant is allowed to remain with the committed person, unless a medical professional determines doing so would pose a health or safety risk to the committed person or infant based on information only available to the Department. The mental health professional shall make any such determination on an individualized basis and in consultation with the birthing team of the pregnant person and the Chief of the Women's Division.
