Rule 4.2 - Continuing education requirement(a) A regulated person must obtain the minimum number of hours of continuing education required by the rules for the person's particular program. The person must obtain the required hours within the prescribed time -period.(b) Continuing education may be earned by: (1) verified attendance or participation in an approved program, activity, or course;(2) verified personal preparation of educational presentations pertaining to the applicable profession or serving as an instructor, speaker, or panel member at an approved continuing education course; or(3) writing articles pertaining to the applicable profession that are published in a state or nationally recognized professional journal of the profession or law- provided, however, that no more than 2.5 hours may be earned under this category during any one certification period.(c) Credit earned under (b)(2) will be awarded as follows:(1) for participation as an instructor in an approved continuing education program, the number of hours approved for attendees of the presentation; and(2) for preparation time, up to 2.5 hours.(d) A regulated person may earn preparation and teaching credit for instructing an approved continuing education course only one time per certification period.
(e) An article submitted under (b)(3) must be approved by the Director to receive continuing education credit. Credit will not be allowed for the same article published in more than one publication.Tex. R. Judi. Cert. Commi. 4.2
