The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) will make payment of retirement or survivor benefits or of refunded contributions only as directed by statute or by a qualified domestic relations order (QDRO). After TRS determines that an order is a QDRO, TRS shall make payments to the alternate payee as directed by the QDRO, unless TRS receives a certified copy of an order from a court of competent jurisdiction that withdraws or supercedes the previous order.
