Section 16.47.1.14 - HORSESHOERS ELIGIBILITYA. An applicant for a license as horseshoer must be at least 18 years of age; be qualified, as determined by the stewards and horseshoer consultant, by reason of experience, background and knowledge of horseshoeing; a horseshoer's license from another jurisdiction, having been issued within a prior period as determined by the commission, may be accepted as evidence of experience and qualifications; evidence of qualifications may require passing one or more of the following: a written examination; an interview or oral examination; a demonstration of practical skills in horseshoeing.B. Applicants not previously licensed as a horseshoer shall be required to pass a written/oral examination, demonstrate practical skills, and submit at least two written statements as to the character and qualifications of the applicant.N.M.
