R-1835 and R-1836 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES July 25, 1940 On June 12, 1940, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board; issued a Decision and Direction of Elections in the above-entitled proceedings., Pursuant to the Direction of Elec- tions, elections by secret ballot were conducted on May 26, 1940, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Seventh Region, (Detroit, Michigan). On June 27, 1940, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued an Elections Report, copies of which were duly served, upon the parties. By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, r IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Pattern Makers' League of North America has been designated and selected by a majority of all per- sons employed as pattern and model makers by Yellow Truck & Coach Manufacturing Company, Pontiac, Michigan, at the Rapid Street Building of its Pontiac plant, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Pattern Makers' League of North America is the exclu- sive representative of all persons employed as pattern and model makers at said building, for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment; and IT is FURTHER - CERTIFIED that - International Union, United Auto- mobile Workers of America has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and maintenance employees and mechani- cal employees employed by Yellow Truck & Coach Manufacturing Company, Pontiac, Michigan, in engineering-department shops of said Company, at its Pontiac plant, but excluding the following employees : direct representatives of the management, such as officers and directors of the Company; sales managers and assistant sales managers; factory managers and assistant factory managers; direc- tors and employees of sales, accounting, personnel, and industrial- relations departments; directors of purchases and assistant directors of purchases; superintendents and assistant superintendents; gen- eral foremen, foremen, and assistant foremen, and all other persons YELLO\V TRUCK & COACH MANUFACTURING COMPANY 861 working in a supervisory capacity, including those having the right to hire or discharge and those whose duties include recommendation as to hiring or discharging (but not leaders) ; employees whose work is of a confidential nature; time-study men; plant-protection. em- ployees (but not maintenance patrolmen or fife patrolmen) ; ` all clerical employees; chief engineers and shift-operating engineers in power plants; designing (drawing board), production estimating and planning engineers; draftsmen and detailers; physicists; chem- ists; metallurgists; artists, designer-artists, and clay and plaster modelers; timekeepers; technical school students; indentured appren- tices and technical or professional employees receiving special train- ing; kitchen and cafeteria help; and all employees engaged as pat- tern and model makers at the Rapid Street Building 'of said Company's Pontiac plant, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, International Union, United Automobile Workers of America is the exclusive representative of all production and maintenance employees and mechanical employees in said engineering-department shops, but excluding those employees excepted as set forth above, for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
