Woodside Cotton Mills Co.Download PDFNational Labor Relations Board - Board DecisionsJul 26, 19388 N.L.R.B. 619 (N.L.R.B. 1938) Copy Citation In the Matter Of WOODSIDE COTTON MILLS COMPANY and TEXTILE WORKERS ORGANIZING COMMITTEE Case No. R-709 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES July 06, 1938 On June 16, 1938, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Direction of Election 1 in the above-entitled case, directing that an election by secret ballot be conducted among the production and maintenance employees of Woodside Cotton Mills Company, at its Greenville Plant, Greenville, South Carolina, ex- cluding clerical and supervisory employees and watchmen, to de- termine whether or not they desire to be represented by Textile Workers Organizing Committee for the purpose of collective bargaining. Pursuant to the Direction, an election by secret ballot was conducted on June 27, 1938, at Greenville, South Carolina, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Tenth Region (At- lanta, Georgia). Full opportunity was accorded to all the parties to this investigation to participate in the conduct of the secret ballot and to make challenges. On July 1, 1938, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Rela- tions Board Rules and Regulations-Series 1, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Intermediate Report upon the secret ballot. No exceptions to the Intermediate Report have been filed by any of the parties. B., No. 65. 619 620 NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS ]BOARD By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela- tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 1, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Textile Workers Organizing Committee has been designated and selected by a majority of the production and maintenance employees of Woodside Cotton Mills Company, at its Greenville Plant, Greenville , South Carolina , excluding clerical and supervisory employees and watchmen , as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Sec- tion 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Textile Workers Organizing Committee is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages , hours of employment , and other conditions of employment.
