' The Direction of Election directed that an election by secret ballot be conducted among all employees of Marshall Field & Company who were on the pay roll of the Company at its Marshall Field & Company Bedspread Mill,2 Spray, North Carolina, during the pay-roll period next preceding the filing of the petition, exclusive of clerical , sales, and supervisory employees and except those Who have quit or have been discharged for cause between that period and the date of the election, to determine whether or not they desire to be represented by Textile Workers Organizing Committee, for the purposes of collective bargaining. Pursuant to the Direction, an election by secret ballot was con- ducted on March 3, 1938, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Fifth Region (Baltimore, Maryland). Thereafter, on March 7, 1938, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 1, as amended , issued and duly served upon the parties an Intermediate Report on the election. No objections or exceptions to the Intermediate Report have been filed by any of the parties. R B 393. 2Erroneously designated as Wearwell Bedspread Mill in the Order of Consolidation and Directing Investigation and Hearing. 110 DECISIONS AND ORDERS 111 By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela- tions Act , 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Section 8, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 1, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Textile Workers Organizing Committee has been designated and selected by a majority of all employees of Marshall Field & Company at its Marshall Field & Company Bed- spread Mill, Spray , North Carolina , excluding clerical , sales, and supervisory employees , as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Textile Workers Organ- izing Committee is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages , hours of employment , and other conditions of employment.
