(LOCAL TO BE CHARTERED) Case No. R-1677 SUPPLEMENTAL DECISION AND ORDER April 9, 1940 On February 27, 1940, the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding.) Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on March 21, 1940, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Third Region ( Buffalo, New York). On March 22, 1940, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regula- tions-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon all parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. The Regional Director reported the following results of the secret ballot : Total number eligible to vote- 181 Total number of ballots cast________________________________ 161 Total number of valid ballots________________________________ 161 Total number of votes in favor of International Ladies' Hand Bag, Pocketbook & Novelty Workers Union, A. F. of L______ 44 Total number of votes against aforementioned union-------- 117 Total number of blank votes________________________________ 0 Total number of void ballots________________________________ 0 Total number of challenged votes____________________________ 0 The results of the election show that no collective bargaining representative has been selected by a majority of the employees in an appropriate unit.
