The Direction of Election directed that an election by secret ballot be conducted among the welders, burners; and their apprentices and helpers employed by the Great Lakes Engineering Works, River Rouge, Michigan, hereinafter called the company. Pursuant to the Decision and Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot has been conducted under the direction and super- vision of Frank H. Bowen, the Regional Director for the Seventh Region (Detroit, Michigan) among all of the welders, burners, and their apprentices and helpers employed by the Company. On March 19, 1938, the said Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regula- tions-Series 1, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Intermediate Report on the election. - No objections or excep- tions have been filed by any of the parties. L R B 788. 539 540 NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 1, as amended, IT is HEIIF.sr CERTIFIED that Down River Shipbuilders Association has been selected by a majority of the welders, burners, and their apprentices and helpers employed by the Great Lakes Engineering Works, River Rouge, Michigan, as their representative for the pur- poses of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Down River Ship- builders Association is the exclusive representative of all such em- ployee for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
