Case No. R-1628 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES February 3, 1940 On December 26, 1939 , the National Labor Relations Board issued its Decision and' Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceed- iilgs.1 Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on January 16, 1940, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Twenty-first Region (Los Angeles, California).. On January 17, 1940, the Regional Di- rector, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total number of eligible voters ---------------------------- 141 Total number of ballots cast_______________________________ 134 Total number of votes for Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North America, through the S. I. 0_________________ 43 Total number of challenged ballots ------------------------ 1 Total number of void ballots______________________________ 0 Total number of blank ballots______ _______________________ 0 Since the number of challenged ballots cannot affect the result of the election, we find it unnecessary to pass upon the challenges. B., No. 8. 121 11 122 DECISIONS OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT is HEREBY CERTIFIED that Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North America, Lodge No. 2018, through the S._ W. 0. C. affiliated with the C. I. 0., has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and maintenance employees of General Metals Corporation, Vernon, California, including ham- mer men, heaters, die sinkers, machinists, blacksmiths, blacksmith helpers, press operators, press helpers, molders, molder helpers, core makers, and laborers, but excluding supervisory employees having the power to hire and discharge and clerical employees, as their repre- sentative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel. and Tin. Workers of North America, Lodge No. 2018, through the S.. W. 0. C. - affiliated with the C. I. 0., is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
