review.1

1 We agree with the Regional Director that the new collective-bargaining agreement that the
Employer and the Intervenor executed on December 6, 2019, was a premature extension of the
automatic 1-year renewal of their previous collective-bargaining agreement and is therefore not a
bar to the petition, which was timely filed during the open period 90 to 60 days prior to the
expiration of the automatic renewal. Consequently, we find it unnecessary to pass on the
Regional Director’s alternative rationale that the new collective-bargaining agreement is not a
bar to the petition because its effective and expiration dates cannot be determined from the face
of the agreement.
