F. OF L.) Case No. R-1571 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES February 5, 1940 On December 18, 1939, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued its Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings.' On January 15, 1940, the Board issued an Amendment to Direction of Election.2 Pursuant to the Direction of Election, as amended, an election by secret-ballot was conducted on January 15, 1940, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Eighth Region (Cleveland, Ohio). On January 17, 1940, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relation Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, issued an Election Report upon the secret ballot, copies of which were duly served upon the parties. The Regional Director reported the following results of the secret ballot : Total number of employees eligible ________________________ 172 Total number of votes cast_______________________________ 127 Total number of votes for United Automobile Workers of America, Local #631 (A. B., No. 10. 129 130 DECISIONS OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Automobile Workers of Amer- ica, Local #631, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, has been designated and selected by a majority of all the employees of Cleveland Hobbing Machine Company, Cleveland, Ohio, excluding the foremen, the superintendent, the general manager, the clerical force, watchmen, and the engineering department, as their repre- sentative for purposes of collective bargaining, and pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, United Automobile Workers of America, Local #631, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
